HELPING CHILDREN HOLD ON TO THEIR HOPES

For more than 35 years Putnam City Care...Share has been an important part of my life, career and the lives of more than 25,000 children! I still remember the day a client of mine, Penny Poe, a Child Counselor in the Putnam City School District, began to see children coming to school with holes in their shoes. The Putnam City Schoo District was growing at the time, encompassing a diverse group of students. Penny purchased 20 pair of shoes and put them in a room. At morning assembly she made an announcement if anyone needed shoes they were there..It wasn't long the shoes disappeared and worn ragged ones left behind. She did it again. I asked if I could make a donation for more shoes and Putnam City Care...Share was born.
